THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS GIFT

LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

The average American household will spend $700 on gifts this year totaling more than $465 billion.

Sadly believers are pre-occupied with this commercialization of Christmas to the point of racking up huge credit card debts then come January, they now are a borrower and a slave to the lender.

This is an acceptable behavior for those still living in darkness, but for us who has been redeemed, should not concentrate only on purchasing gifts that fade away, but rather, share the greatest gift one could ever receive at Christmas.

So why do we need a Savior?

In the book of Genesis, God use to come and spend time with Adam in the cool of the day, but after they sin, they were removed from the Garden of Eden and Cherubim’s was place their with flaming swords to keep them from coming back and to see the Glory of the Lord, because God is too Holy to look upon sin. See Habakkuk 1:13

The book of Revelation reminds us, that when God is judging the unrighteous they will be in darkness, while God will be in the light.

In other words, Romans 5:19 tells us
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Additionally, the wages of Sin is death, but the Gift of God is Eternal life through Jesus Christ. And so from that faithful or not so faithful day in the garden, mankind was in need of a savior.

Start small. Think Big.
